WHAT ARE CREATED DIAMONDS?
NATURAL-FIRE
MAN MADE

Created or laboratory grown diamonds are a product of man-made brilliance. Just as mined diamonds are a miracle of nature as a result of the earth’s geological processes – created diamonds are a testimony to human ingenuity.
100% diamond, created diamonds are produced in a laboratory over a matter of weeks, mimicking their creation in nature, through the application of intense laser, heat and pressure.
A Conscious Choice
Since no extractive mining was involved in their creation, land and communities have not been displaced, bringing with them a number of eco positives. As the world is ever more conscious of ecology and sustainability, many brands recognise the merits of associating their corporate values with the merits of created diamonds.
As declared by the Federal Trade Commission in 2018, created diamonds can legally and ethically be regarded as diamonds, on par with mined diamonds since they share “…all the essential visual, chemical, physical and atomic properties”
CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE?

Lab Diamond

Mined Diamond
To the naked eye or even with a gemmologist’s loupe, it is impossible to tell the difference between a mined and a created diamond. Unless in-depth tests are conducted by a gemmological laboratory which determine the structure of crystal growth, it is impossible to discern the two.
MORE BOUNCE FOR THE OUNCE!
Since created diamonds are typically more price sensitive than their mined counterparts, we are able to pass these saving economies onto our customers. ECLIPSE DIAMONDS only works with the highest gemmological grade of created diamonds, which means that you have greater purchasing power – being able to buy higher quality and larger diamonds with the budget you might spend on mined stones.

This is particularly relevant for merchandising products, were scalability and replicability are of the utmost importance. Since merchandising items are typically gifted in a corporate context, the fact that the diamonds are created diamonds, they may provide an alternative to mined diamonds which are commonly gifted as the symbol of eternal love.
